Janet Panic summer tour with Super Mistico Fantasma

I am importing a fantastic 5 piece Latin Reggae Funk band from Monterrey Mexico this coming August and we will be at the Roberts Creek Legion July 31st and Sechelt Library Square August 1 and Gibsons Legion August 8th more dates to follow.
They have a brand new CD out and really get the whole crowd dancing and partying.  Here is a sample of their music .  I met them in Southern Mexico this past winter and started playing around Coastal Mexico with them.  They packed the rooms and people couldn't stay in their seats even in 35
°c heat. We are planning another Mexican tour together in November 2015.

Aboriginal Voices Radio Need Your Letters Of Support

Deadline for letters of support for Aboriginal Voices Radio is April 15 8pm e.s.t.
The CRTC is threatening to revoke our licenses, We are a non-profit that receives no government funding. They expect us to meet crazy conditions in line with multimillion dollar for profit FM stations...the CBC towers where we broadcast from charge us for profit rates more than double the rate of other not for profits ... HELP!

Parker Leflar's letter as an example....

Aboriginal Voices Radio is an incredibly important service to community. As an Edmonton resident, I listen to this station almost every single day as a way to learn more about local and canadian Aboriginal issues and stay connected to what's happening locally. Their programming has always been excellent. Any attempts to shut this station down on the basis that they are not fulfilling their role in servicing Aboriginal communities should be met with great skepticism. Who gets to decide what content is applicable or relevant to urban Aboriginals? Only First Nations, Metis and Inuit people themselves have the right to determine this, not the CRTC.

AVR does important community work with very little resources. They should absolutely not be penalized or have their licence revoked on the basis that they cannot always fulfill the same requirements expected of profit-driven stations. AVR is valued and valuable. Please consider the negative impact it would have, and what message it sends to Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal listeners, if this radio station were to be shut down. We need MORE Aboriginal voices, not less.

Our Two Women Tour starts Oct 2 in Kelowna

Pretty jazzed about our tour starting.  Our girls are coming along with us to film and help with merch ect.  Feeling pretty badass as an all woman crew.  This means I can stop and shop every now and then and also pick from a 4 women wardrobe. Not only are we doing club dates we are going to do our first house concert at an old friends home in Calgary, I love the idea of doing a cross country house tour, cross my fingers for the the future.

APCMA 2014

-Thanks Cousin Tracey Pruden for sending me the video!-
The 2014 APCMA's were the best yet.  I got to meet Choclair and discuss a collaboration.  Finally saw Gunner Recordings new band Ghost Town Orchestra and they took home a win for best rock cd. Congrats you sexy beasts!  Hung with Jb the FirstLady and her friend Trip Charbs, who made me a beautiful  beaded Indian Princess Tiara! Saw Lorne and Lewis Cardinal and Monique Hurteau.  Saw Mzz Goose rock out at Reagle Beagle. Went to a really good panel at Manitoba Music and met festival buyers from Norway, Nova Scotia and Ontario. Did you know most music buyers for festivals are women? In a male dominated industry it's cool to know there are lots of women in this powerful position. : )
